Furuno and ChartWorld have announced a cooperation agreement on the promotion of ChartWorld’s ground-breaking information-overlay service to Furuno ECDIS operators and owners.
ChartWorld Information Overlay, known as CIO+, is a data overlay shown in ECDIS as a user chart, loaded on top of the Electronic Nautical Chart. CIO+ is an efficient tool to help the team on the bridge with the task of voyage planning and execution. It is intended to automate the process of applying additional data in ECDIS by means of user-chart objects.

Furuno will support ChartWorld’s promotion of CIO+ on their ECDIS, giving huge advantages by the automatic addition of the following data:
CIO+ includes Temporary and Preliminary Notices to Mariners (T&P NtM) published by the UKHO and other local Hydrographic Offices.
CIO+ includes NAVAREA Navigational Warnings. All active NAVAREA warnings along a planned route will be supplied and updated weekly in a CIO+ user-chart overlay.
